Mulching units are primarily utilized for cultivating stubble following the harvest of cereals and rapeseed. These machines are ideal for initial post-harvest cultivations. The Rolmako SpringExpert mulching harrow establishes a microclimate in the upper soil layer, leveraging ground moisture to facilitate the rapid and uniform germination of weed seeds. Subsequently, the SpringExpert harrow rakes and eliminates weeds at the cotyledon stage, removing a primary food source for snails and thereby reducing their population while disrupting their nests. A similar effect is achieved in the elimination of molehills. The robust SpringExpert straw harrows are engineered for efficient operation and optimal cultivation results. Optional front-mounted discs cut and aerate the soil, precisely following the terrain to ensure consistent working section performance. These discs can be substituted with an aggressive cutting roller or Crossboard drag. At speeds up to 25 km/h, the mulch harrow breaks down the straw structure, promoting faster decomposition. Harrows also serve to level the soil and create a fine topsoil before or after cultivation.
Promote weed germination, remove them, and eliminate pests
A single device for stubble cultivation and pre-sowing applications
SpringExpert is a mulching harrow, thanks to which you will achieve increased yields and high-quality stubble cultivation right after harvest, before preparing the soil for the next crop. It can also be used in early spring. SpringExpert is the ideal machine for cheap and fast leveling and warming of the topsoil after winter, which accelerates the germination of spring crops. The high efficiency of the device is possible due to the well-thought-out design of the SpringExpert harrow, which can operate at a working speed of 25 km/h. Thanks to its design, the machine with a large working width can be aggregated even with lower horsepower tractors, while maintaining low fuel consumption. It is a device that uproots and evenly distributes crop residues on the stubble. Stubble cultivation is then significantly faster and more effective than traditional methods. It is possible to equip the device with an APV catch crop seeder with a pneumatic or hydraulic blower.
Decrease chemical agents and machine operating costs
The durable, extended tines of the mulching harrow operate at a depth of up to 3 cm. Their function ensures even straw distribution, thorough seed shaking, and the elimination of self-seeding plants and weeds. Vibrating tines mix crop residues with the soil displaced by the optional front working discs. Mulching units reduce water evaporation from the soil. The residual soil fosters a microclimate conducive to the germination of self-seeding plants and weed seeds, which can be targeted in subsequent treatments. Rolmako offers an optional additional row of cutting discs or a knife roller for shredding crop residues, targeting stem breakage at ground level to expedite crop residue drying, thereby depriving pests of habitat. A second pass with the SpringExpert mulch harrow, cultivator, or disc harrow achieves effective control of self-seeding cereals and weeds, offering a cost-efficient alternative to herbicides.

Mulching comb
The SpringExpert mounted mulching harrow features 5 rows of double working fingers mounted on robust pipes integrated into the machine frames. The fingers are 16 mm thick and 750 mm long. Each pair of tines is secured to the transverse pipe with screws, allowing slight rotation. This design ensures optimal overlap of individual rods. The angle of the fingers is hydraulically adjusted using double-acting cylinders. The best mixing effects are achieved when the fingers are positioned near vertical. The rods may wear out faster, particularly when working on stubble during dry seasons. Therefore, for such conditions, we recommend equipping the SpringExpert harrow with cemented carbide-tipped rods, which offer a longer service life while maintaining the same working effect. Alternatively, a rod repair kit can be used, replacing only the abrasive part that contacts the ground, while the spring element remains in service without the need for replacement.
Front row of OFAS cutting discs
The specially shaped OFAS cutting disc, with a diameter of 460 mm, features a sharp edge that easily penetrates the soil. Its function is to disturb the topsoil layer very shallowly. The disc section cultivates the soil minimally. They are designed to cause the soil to rise, mixing it with crop residues. The sharp edge is intended to shorten cereal stalks, and oil plants and aerate the soil. The intensity of the disc beam is hydraulically controlled from the tractor cab. SpringExpert, equipped with front cutting discs, can be used in spring for initial cultivation, which will interrupt water evaporation and help heat the topsoil.
Knife roller
The knife roller at the front of the machine ensures effective and thorough shredding of crop residues. The oblique arrangement of the knives ensures even force distribution, optimizing performance. The roller features solid, maintenance-free bearings and boron steel knives, ensuring durability. Its closed core is highly resistant to stones and clogging. The roller improves crop residue mixing with soil, accelerating decomposition. Hydraulic controls from the tractor cabin regulate the roller's intensity. Its small diameter enables high rotational speed. Double-sided, sharpened knives reduce wear costs by half.
Crossboard leveling drag
The drag is composed of hardened springs and bent working tips. This tool effectively breaks up clods and levels the field, creating an optimal surface before sowing. It is effective on stony fields as it does not bring stones to the surface. The Crossboard drag is available in various versions, differing in spring size and skid width. For challenging conditions, an optional stabilizing beam can be installed, connecting the working elements for enhanced leveling. When a hard crust forms on the field surface, an aggressive skid with DoubleKnife tines is recommended.

Ultra-shallow cultivation
The challenges posed to farmers by the changing climate and the new EU Common Agricultural Policy guidelines have led to the increasing popularity of ultra-shallow cultivation tools in Poland. Rolmako is adapting to these new conditions by offering a comprehensive range of soil cultivation machines. Every unwanted plant in the field represents a loss of valuable water, which is crucial during dry seasons. As crops increasingly suffer from drought, it is essential to prevent plantation overgrowth. Weeds and volunteers plants compete for water, light, space, and nutrients. Limiting their presence should be a priority from the moment of harvesting the previous crop. Failure to provoke early weed germination will result in serious issues for the next crop. Using SpringExpert, rapeseed and weed seeds germinate quickly because they are placed shallowly in the soil. Germinated volunteer and weed seeds can be destroyed in subsequent mechanical procedures, a return to proven methods. This approach reduces the use of chemical plant protection agents and promotes the widespread use of integrated protection methods. Machines for ultra-shallow cultivation are increasingly popular among farmers, including those who employ no-plough technology.

Adjusting the mulching comb
The angle of attack of the springs is hydraulically adjusted by extending the hydraulic piston and locking the set position with adjustment clips. The settings are convenient and quick to perform. The aggressiveness of the working elements can be modified during field work to adapt them to the intended cultivation effect. A finger set at a smaller angle means more intensive work on stubbles.
